Ken Kiff

In a life drawing class today the teacher was talking about colourists and artists that use abstract colour, one of the names she mentioned was Ken Kiff. I've had a look into his work and I think his use of bright colours is really appealing. His choice of colour and shapes can seem very naive but there's still a mature, even unsettling sensibility to his work, and I think this is a line I also tread, particularly when I use watercolour. An exhibition of his work opens on the 4th March at the Marlborough Fine Art Gallery and I'll definitely go see it.
